A really good song written at Ebb Valley ES

The after-school Hot Spots program at Ebb Valley ES had students ranging grades 2-5, and they wrote a really good parody of the song Immortals by Fallout Boy, and the topic was: civility and the golden rule.

Civilized Sports (parody of Immortals)
verse 1:
I just hit that ball so far out, I hit a home run
My teammate hogs the ball ‘cuz he thinks he’s an all star
I’ll be the hitter hitter, o-of the fast ball
I’ll hog that ball so much that nobody gets it
pre-chorus 1:
It’s coo-oo-oo-ooh, ooh-oo-oo-oo-oo-ool
If you share the ball with us the coach is proud of you
It’s coo-oo-oo-ooh, ooh-oo-oo-oo-oo-ool
I’ll try to make it fair and fun for you too

chorus 1:
’Cuz we could share our football, our football
No matter if they’re mean
Always be kind, and never change your mind
No matter if they’re mean
chorus tag 1:
We could be ki-i-i-i-i-i-i-ind, be ki-ind
Be ki-i-i-i-i-i-i-ind, be ki-ind
Be ki-i-i-i-i-i-i-ind, be ki-ind
Be ki-i-i-i-i-i-i-ind, be ki-ind

verse 2:
Today the best player missed the big winning goal
When he took the shot it missed and bounced off the pole
After the game his friends call him a mean name
Another kid said, “You should be ashamed”
pre-chorus 2:
Ple-e-e-e-e-e-e-e-e-e-ease
Encourage me for the next game when we play the other team
Ple-e-e-e-e-e-e-e-e-e-ease
I wanna be your friend but you won’t give me a chance

chorus 2:
The game is more fun, when we get along
Be cool and show respect
Nobody likes, when you’re unsportsmanlike
Be cool and show respect
chorus tag 2:
We’ll be respe-e-e-e-e-e-e-e-ect, respectful
Respe-e-e-e-e-e-e-e-ect, respectful

bridge:
Respectful.   And if we always are kind
And if we never change our mind

The game is more fun, when we get along
Be cool and show respect

final chorus tag:
We could be ki-i-i-i-i-i-i-ind, be ki-ind
Be ki-i-i-i-i-i-i-ind, be ki-ind
Respe-e-e-e-e-e-e-e-ect, respectful
Respe-e-e-e-e-e-e-e-ect, respectful.   Respectful.
