Tunbridge Public Charter School

We wrote parodies about Animal Classification, I had a great time here this year!

Fungus Maybe (parody of Call Me Maybe)
I'd never give you the sun
Just wilt away and be done
Planting your seeds is no fun
You're a thorny rose

Amoba's crawl through the slime
I've seen you too many times
You're always in my mind
Nasty purple protist

girls pre chorus:
My mother told me,
Not to talk to bad boys
They're a different family
Sitting in a nasty species

girls chorus:
I classified you
Flat, damp and moldy
You’re in a kingdom
A fungus, maybe?

You smell like mushrooms
You're disgusting
A moldy pizza
Your spores are spreading

verse 3:
I can survive on my own
So you just leave me alone
I should just throw you a bone
Cuz you're an animal

boys prechorus:
My father told me,
Not to talk to silly sissies
They're a different family
Sitting there a nasty species

boys chorus:
Hey what did I do?
I think you're crazy
Sick bacteria
You lazy lady
You just don't look right
You've got rabies
Sick bacteria
You make me hazy

bridge:
Before you were invertebrate
You weren't so spineless
You had a backbone
You weren't so spineless
Taxonomists can't classify you
You really need one
And you should know that

girls chorus:
I classified you
Flat, damp and moldy
You’re in a kingdom
A fungus, maybe?
boys:
Hey what did I do?
I think you're crazy
Sick bacteria
You lazy lady

bridge:
Before you were invertebrate
You weren't so spineless
You had a backbone
You weren't so spineless
Taxonomists can't classify you
You really need one
And you should know that

Leave It (parody of Beat It)
verse 1:
Some amphibians can swim around here
They wanna stay alive, you'd better disappear
They hop and they crawl, and some slither up the wall
So leave it, just leave it

verse 2:
European tree frogs can jump thirty three feet
They use their sticky tongue, I dunno what they eat
Some toads and frogs are very very small
So leave it, don't pull on their tails

chorus:
Just see it, feel it, hear it, need it
Everybody’s got to believe it
Find how they're different, and what's the same
Classify animals, all by their names
Just see it, just see it
See it, just see it

verse 3:
Cold blooded reptiles lay lots of eggs
They eat fruits and flowers and some don't have legs
Scary sharp jaws and deadly big claws
So leave it, just leave it

verse 4:
They say some reptiles are really not scared
You never want to see their face because it's truth or dare
They wanna stay alive and they slither all the time
So leave it, they've got a lot of scales

chorus:
Just see it, feel it, hear it, need it
Everybody’s got to believe it
Find how they're different, and what's the same
Classify animals, all by their names
Just see it, just see it
See it, just see it

verse 5:
Birds eat worms, they use their beaks
Warm-blood, two legs, and feathered wings
They fly through the sky, I wonder how high
So see it, just see it

verse 6:
You'd better fly high and spread your wings
Babies birds hatch and then they sing
Build nests with their beaks, they'll be flying two weeks
So see it, but you wanna get close

What Makes a Kingdom Beautiful (parody of What Makes You Beautiful by One Direction)
Reptiles have scales
Cold blooded tails
Lay lots of eggs and they make stinky smells
They have holes
Instead of ears
They creep me out because they have no fears

pre-chorus:
Pythons have no legs and they're so long
Dangerous and very strong

Chorus 1:
Baby you light up the kingdom of animals
Reptiles, amphibians birds and mammals
Invertabrates, fishes and camels
And I know
Animals and where they go
Oh oh oh
Classify it's how you know

verse 2:
I have hair
I'm not a bear
I have four legs and I don't lay eggs
I eat meat
I eat plants
I live in every country, even France

Pre Chorus:
Drink mother's milk for their nutrition
Cows, pigs and dogs do too.

Chorus 1:
Baby you light up the kingdom of animals
Reptiles, amphibians birds and mammals
Invertabrates, fishes and camels
And I know
Animals and where they go
Oh oh oh
Classify it's how you know

verse 3:
Amphibians
Are so cool
They live on land and water too.
They breathe with lungs
And gills
Frogs, lizards and turtles in their shells.

pre-chorus:
Our blood is cold and that's always true
Our smooth skin is so sweet

Chorus 1:
Baby you light up the kingdom of animals
Reptiles, amphibians birds and mammals
Invertabrates, fishes and camels
And I know
Animals and where they go
Oh oh oh
Classify it's how you know

verse 4:
You have two legs
And lay some eggs
You have holes instead of ears in your head
Eagles high
Up in the sky
Having wings and feathers makes us fly.

pre-chorus:
Our blood is warm in our bodies too
Beautiful birds fly high

Chorus 1:
Baby you light up the kingdom of animals
Reptiles, amphibians birds and mammals
Invertabrates, fishes and camels
And I know
Animals and where they go
Oh oh oh
Classify it's how you know

Rolling in the Kingdom (parody of Rolling in Deep)

There's a kingdom I read in a book
Trust me and you'll see if you just take a look
Animals, fungus, protista, monera
Some can't be seen without a microscope

Invertebrates have no back bones
Flimsy and flexible in the animal kingdom
Vertebrates have a bony spine
You'll be surprised that they're very fine

pre-chorus:
The tigers hunting and something's grunting
Better skedoodle, they're roaring for their food
Gorilla's stinky, their breath ain't minty
Hairy and scary

chorus:
We classified ‘em all
We put ‘em into groups
I'm singing this for you
I never mix 'em up

verse
There's a tiger standing in the street
It's ready to get hit by an SUV
Running up the street to try to save it's life
Without a backbone it would be dead tonight

pre-chorus:
Living things are made of cells
They munch food to reproduces themselves
Energy's nice when they eat a grain of rice
A pizza slice

chorus:
We classified ‘em all
We put ‘em into groups
I'm singing this for you
'Cuz I never mix 'em up

CLAP:
Birds fly high, way up in the sky
Migrating in the spring
That is when they fly
Birds lay eggs way up in a tree
When the babies hatch they begin to tweet

pre-chorus:
Living things are made of cells
They munch food to reproduces themselves
Energy's nice when they eat a grain of rice
A pizza slice

chorus:
We classified ‘em all
We put ‘em into groups
I'm singing this for you

'Cuz I never mix 'em up
